Gloucester continue their march up the Guinness Premiership table

Gloucester Rugby have had something of a renaissance over the last few weeks, after suffering a few setbacks during the first half of the season. The Sci-Mentor-powered Guinness Premiership team are now back on course to finish in the top half of the table.

Gloucester demolished Sale Sharks in their recent match at a very muddy Kingsholm, picking up a bonus point in the process and moving into 7th place in the table – just 3 points behind West Country rivals Bath.

Despite the dreadful conditions that weren’t conducive to running rugby, Gloucester looked to play with width and were full of ambition right from the start – perhaps England could take a leaf out of their book? Two tries from Lesley Vainikolo and one each from Akapusi Qera, Nicky Robinson, James Simpson-Daniel and Andy Hazell were added to an early penalty try to complete the rout.

Although the Cherry and Whites were defeated at Welford Road a fortnight ago, they’ve recently chalked up wins against Harlequins and Worcester in the League, as well as Biarritz and the Newport Gwent Dragons in the Heineken Cup.

They’ll continue to fight for a place in the top half of the Premiership, they have qualified for the knockout stages of the Amlin Challenge Cup (as one of the best Heineken Cup group runners-up), and there is more silverware available in the LV= Cup.

All that Twister, Whey Protein and Creatine sounds like it’s doing a good job! We’ll be running a competition shortly where you can win tickets to one of Gloucester’s matches at Kingsholm, so stand by for further details.
